In total we had 101 Men and competing and 22 Women competing across all grades and from all reports most members enjoyed the two days.
The final two rounds will be staged this coming weekend with the final Round on Sunday. All members are welcome to join the celebrations of the winners in the club house after the event and I am sure the members playing would love to see a large number of members to be on the course watching the play on the day.

PACE OF PLAY
Recently I have started to receive an increase in the number of complaints from members about the slow pace of play and when analysing the round times on our competition days it confirms that they have definitely increased of late.
The introduction of MiScore is allowing us to closely monitor the round times, and in particular, how far your group finished the round behind the group in front of you. We are presently considering what the consequences are for groups or members who are continuously falling behind where they should be in relation to other groups.
To improve the fields over all round times I ask all groups to
-
Ensure your group is on the 1st Tee ready for your tee off time
-
Keep up with the group in front maintaining the 7 minute interval and don’t worry about how far you are in front of the group behind you
-
Every player should safely move to their ball and be ready to have their shot and not wait for the other members have their shot before doing so.
-
Move quickly between your shots
-
If we have preferred lies in place you should mark, clean and place your ball whilst other members of your group are taking their shot.
-
Reduce your number of practice swings
-
Ensure two players in your group putt out and move to the next tee to have their shots
-
Enter your scores on the next tee whilst your partners are taking their shot
WINTER COURSE CARE
Now the days and nights are cooling down and the course is entering the slow growing season it is again time to Help our Greens Staff and protect the course during by ensuring you:
-
Repair divots and pitch marks
-
Keep motorised carts and push buggies on paths where-ever possible
-
Keep your push buggies outside the roped off areas as they have been put in place to protect the areas and keep buggies off.
-
Ensure you replace the rope correctly if you have to take it down to play your shot
COURSE USAGE FOR PRACTICE
It has been noted that members are not doing the right thing when using the course outside of competition or a social round or practice. If you are having a practice or social round that you and your partners
-
Register with the Pro Shop before accessing the course
-
Use the White Tees (ONLY)
-
Repair all your divots/pitch marks, and other if you see them
-
Use a maximum three balls when practicing
-
Don’t jump for hole to hole
-
Don’t disrupt other people using the course
-
Be mindful of green staff activities
LATE CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY – REMINDER
On 1 March, Bayview Golf Club introduced a Late Cancellation & No-Show Policy in response to a growing number of last-minute cancellations and members failing to attend their booked tee times.
Members have been kept informed of this policy through fortnightly newsletters together with a notice posted on the clubhouse board and it being added to the club website since mid-February. A link to the full policy is available for those who have not yet reviewed it.
Over the past three weeks, the Match Committee has found it necessary to contact several members regarding missed tee times. With daylight hours now reducing, it is more important than ever that members stay on top of their bookings. If you are unable to play, please remove your booking from the tee sheet with sufficient notice so that another member can take your spot.
When a booking is made, the system automatically sends a confirmation email, followed by two reminder emails — one two days before and one the day before your round.
Please note that the responsibility for managing a booking rests with the individual member, regardless of who originally made the booking.
The Club Captain, Match Committee or Golf Club Management may declare an extreme weather event and suspend the No-Show Policy for the affected competition.
