RESULTS

BAYVIEW GRADE TEAM

Raelene Dockrill, Sally Kay, Lisa White, Jo Hunter, Chris Jacobs (Res), Charme Freeman.

Round 2 was played at Wakehurst against Cromer, it was a tightly contested day with every match going down to the wire. In the end, the result finished all square — a true battle from start to finish. Congratulations to the entire team, who sit at the top of the table and are practising hard to stay there.

Bayview Grade Team

Round 3 was cancelled at Cromer GC, which was closed due to heavy rain.  Commiserations to the team and caddies who were mid-trip when the cancellation came through.

BRONZE II Shield – Elizabeth Kelly, Barbara Gavin, Gillian Wood, Caroline Blackmore & Jo Pearce

Bronze II faced truly testing conditions at Oatlands against Pymble, with wet and windy weather setting the tone for the day. Umbrellas were up before the first tee shot, and the gusting wind made club selection a constant challenge.

The drama began even before arrival. On the way to the course, Barbara struck a deep pothole, resulting in a burst tyre and an unexpected roadside delay. In a wonderful show of leadership and calm under pressure, Field Captain Liz came to the rescue at Pymble, ensuring her teammate made it safely to Oatlands and was able to take her place in the side. Special mention must go to teammate Barbara, who soldiered on and played her match with great courage. In conditions that would have tested even the most seasoned player, she showed grit and determination, embodying the fighting spirit of the team.

Despite the challenging circumstances — both on the road and under trying skies — Bronze II demonstrated resilience, camaraderie and true sportsmanship. The result, although disappointing for the team, included many close matches. It was a day that highlighted not only golfing skill, but also the strength and character of a side.

2026 BICYCLE TROPHY

The much-anticipated Bicycle Trophy was held on Thursday, 19 February 2026, bringing together a wonderful field of players for one of the club’s most enjoyable annual competitions.

In keeping with tradition, players were divided into the Big Wheel and Little Wheel based on handicap. Partners were determined by random draw, pairing a higher-handicap player with a lower-handicap player, creating spirited teamwork and lively competition across the course.

Winning the event were Jill Winter and Janet Raine with 45 points, with runners-up Helen Owens and Caroline Blackmore on 43 points.

The Trophy itself has a charming history. It was donated in 1957 by the NSW Bicycle Club in appreciation of the wonderful lunch prepared by the Bayview ladies for their meeting at the club — a gesture of thanks that has become a lasting tradition.

It was a fantastic day played in great spirit, with members embracing both the challenge and the camaraderie of this much-loved event.

MIDWEEK MEDAL 1

Congratulations to the winners of the first Midweek medal of the season

Div1  Heather Jones   73                       r/up Charme Freeman  74

Div 3  Helen Owens   35pts                   r/up Sue Lewis               34pts

For the Golf NSW Medal Competition & Bayview Medal of Medals, the division you played in for medal 1 is the division you compete in.

For the Monthly Medal, play in the division of your handicap on the day.

PLEASE NOTE

LEAVING THE GAME EARLY

Your scoring partner leaves the game for medical or emergency reasons. Continue to score them a P (pickup) for every hole thereafter. Before submitting your final score, please check that the Pro Shop has been notified so they can alter the scoring procedure.

STROKE ROUND DISASTER

If you are having a terrible round and you decide you cannot continue with stroke, you may drop down to a stableford game. To do this, enter a P (pickup) on the disaster hole, then continue scoring as a stableford round. MiScore will not place you on the leaderboard, but your game will count for handicap. Please note that if you drop down, you are then NOT in any competition of the day.
