PENNANT REPORTS
MAJOR PENNANTS
SEMI FINAL REPORT – Bayview vs Long Reef
Our Bayview Major Pennant team had an exceptional season finishing on top of their section with 3 wins, a draw and 2 losses. They enjoyed solid wins at home against Springwood, Dunheved and Camden and a draw at Dunheved in the last match to finish on top of their section with 3.5 section points and 25.5 match points.
On Sunday, they travelled to Roseville to take on Long Reef who were seeded No. 1 in the Division. The matches were close all day with Bayview getting the first three matches home with Jacob Schouw, Anthony Carter and RJ winning their matches. The next four matches were extremely close but unfortunately the next three matches went Long Reef’s way with Ben Higgins Mick Perry and Adam Gaukrodger losing on the 16th and 17th which left it down to the last match on the course with Brent Lawrence playing No. 1 on the day. This match was extremely tight with the lead chopping and changing throughout the day. The match was all square going down the 17th with both players putting to win the hole. Unfortunately, Long Reef won the 17th to be one up going down the 18th and the last hole of the semi-final was halved to give Long Reef the match and a win on the day.
I would like to take the opportunity on behalf of all members to congratulate the entire 2026 Major Pennant Squad for their motivation, dedication and the way they represented Bayview Golf Club during the season. I would also like to thank Mick Perry for managing the team, Graeme Keates for his management on game day, the members who caddied and the members who attended the games in support of the team.
Congratulations on a great season and we all look forward to a win in 2027.

FINAL – BAYVIEW vs MONA VALE
After the 5th match in the round robin series Bayview finished on top with 3 Wins, I Draw and 1 Loss and will take on Mona Vale in the final today at Cromer. The other matches will be between Cromer and Wakehurst for third and fourth and Manly and Long Reef for the wooden spoon.
Best of luck in the finals guys.

MiSCORE and MOBILE PHONE USAGE
I have only heard positive comments about the introduction of MiScore at Bayview and members are commenting that It certainly makes submitting scores much easier.
There was a time where use of mobile phones on course, during competitions, was not allowed at any time, however, now we are using them to record scores I must remind all members of the following etiquette.
-
Phones must be placed on silent mode at all times while you are on the course.
-
Calls, unless absolutely urgent, must not be made or answered at any time during competition.
-
If you have to take or make a call be mindful of how it may impact your playing partners or other golfers in your vicinity.
LATE CANCELLATION – NO-SHOW POLICY
Due to an increase in the number of late booking cancellations and members not turning up to their tee times, on the day, a Late Cancellation & No-Show Policy at Bayview Golf Club will be introduced the week commencing Sunday 1st March. This policy addresses the issue of players failing to show up for their designated tee times or cancelling bookings on competition days. The intent is to promote respect, fairness and reliability amongst all members. The responsibility to manage the members booking rests solely with the member not the person who makes the booking.
It is understood that situations such as illness or unforeseen personal or immediate family related circumstances occur from time to time and such events may prevent players from turning up for their tee time at late notice. It should be understood that the decision to accept such an explanation from the member will rest with, and be at the discretion, of the Match Committee or Golf Management.
The Club Captain, Match Committee or Golf Club Management may declare an extreme weather event and suspend the No-Show Policy for the affected competition.
The Policy will be posted on the notice boards in the club and will be attached to the BGC Website. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the details of the policy.
EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER
A reminder we have recently added the Local Rules page to the MiScore App and at the top of this page we have listed the
EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER. 8419 0600.
This is the number you dial if there is an emergency situation on the course as, when dialled, it calls all BGC phones which will result in a faster response to any emergency that occurs on course. Please save this in your phones just in case you need it.
