Congratulations to the winners of the Thong Throwing competition, Karen Harrison and Peter Rolls, and congratulations to Megan Rawlings for winning the Unisex Putting Competition.

FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS
This year’s Foursomes Championships was again interrupted by rain which resulted in the A Grade Men’s and Div 1 Women’s events being shortened to 18 holes and the other grades being postponed to be run on the 31st January. It was great to see large fields entered in all grades again this year with 45 teams in total.
The C Grade Scratch event saw three teams of Richard Wilmott and Billy Dwyer; Steve Klug and Dave Haynes; John Gojnich and Mark Welch finish their rounds equal on 101. They headed down the first in a sudden death playoff with Steve and Dave winning the first hole to take out the title. The other two teams finished on the second playoff hole with Richard and Billy winning the hole.
It was also great to see all players in the club after their game sharing their stories of the day and staying for the presentation to the winners.

EIGHT AND EAT– New Event
Friday 27th February will see the introduction of an Eight and Eat event that will be open to all members plus visitors. It is planned to have a shotgun start at 3pm and play on a reduced course playing on the clubhouse side of the course (Holes 1,2,3,8,9,10,11,12). This will ensure the field will finish around 5pm in time for dinner in the club before market night commences at 6pm. It is envisaged that the entry fee for the event will be $35 which will include golf, dinner and prizes, It should be a lot of fun and if it proves to be popular we plan to run it through daylight savings each year.
The entry form will be posted on the notice board later this week
PENNANT REPORTS
MAJOR PENNANTS
For our first week of Pennant we ventured to Springwood which is always a difficult course to play (and get to!). The contest was a lot tighter than what the scores reflect but in this form of Pennant you can definitely see how a home course advantage plays into the hands of that team.
The result ended up being Springwood winning 5 and 2, with a lot of games going down to at least the 16th or 17th holes…a few of our players were down early but managed to show some great fighting spirit to get their games back to a point where I’m sure their opponents were very nervous about getting across the line.
RJ won 3&2
Ben Higgins won 1up
Jacob Schouw lost 4&3
Adam Gaukrodger lost 2&1
Stuart Webster lost 2&1
Anthony Carter lost 5&4
James Clendenning lost 2&1
This week will be a big week for Bayview as we need to take advantage of our home course and we would love to see as many members as possible come along on the day to support our team! It makes such a difference to the side when we feel that we have supporters there cheering us on particularly in our first

LATE CANCELLATION – NO SHOW POLICY
Due to an increase in the number of late booking cancellations and members not turning up to their tee times, on the day, a Late Cancellation & No-Show Policy at Bayview Golf Club will be introduced the week commencing Sunday 1st March. This policy addresses the issue of players failing to show up for their designated tee times or cancelling bookings on competition days. The intent is to promote respect, fairness and reliability amongst all members. The responsibility to manage the members booking rests solely with the member not the person who makes the booking.
It is understood that situations such as illness or unforeseen personal or immediate family related circumstances occur from time to time and such events may prevent players from turning up for their tee time at late notice. It should be understood that the decision to accept such an explanation from the member will rest with, and be at the discretion, of the Match Committee or Golf Management.
The Club Captain, Match Committee or Golf Club Management may declare an extreme weather event and suspend the No-Show Policy for the affected competition.
The Policy will be posted on the notice boards in the club and will be attached to the BGC Website. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the details of the policy.
EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER
A reminder we have recently added the Local Rules page to the Mi Score App and at the top of this page we have listed the EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER. 8419 0600. This is the number you dial if there is an emergency situation on the course as, when dialled, it calls all BGC phones which will result in a faster response to any emergency that occurs on course. Please save this in your phones just in case you need it.
